Graham is starting to stay awake now for longer periods of time and is sleeping longer periods of time as well. He still cries a lot when he is awake, but he is also starting to mellow bit when he wakes up. In other words, he may cry, but it isn't always bloody murder the moment his eyes open. He does, however, still absolutely, without a doubt, hate the car. He cries that blood-curdling, lip quivering, why-are-my-parents-so-mean?, cry each and everytime he gets in his carseat. And many times it is for the entire journey. That makes for a long half hour for Harper and me when we take Lucy to school. And then we get to do it again on the pick-up. An hour of screaming non-stop, three days a week. It was time for an intervention and I am happy to report that the pacifier has been introduced and pretty much only used when he is in the car. Lucy's new backseat job is to keep Graham happy with his paci. She gladly accepted the position.
The video is not anything more than Graham having some awake time before bedtime one night. I just thought the grandparents not able to see him all the time might like to see him squirming around a bit.
He is a hoss. Not sure how much he weighs at this point, but he is certainly gaining weight. We can see it in his belly, his thighs and his cheeks. He's the new big man in our lives. He eats heartily, resists burping because he is always in a milk coma and therefore spends a lot of time being rocked and burped and massaged. Maybe that's his plan- a big meal, a belly massage, a cuddle, a nap on my chest. I suppose that's not a bad way to spend a day.
