Summa, summa, summatime!

Here is the summer in a nutshell: doctors appointments, farmer's market, playground, packing, visits from Uncle Hunter, Grandpa, Bon Bon, Gramzie, Pop Pop, and Chloe. Fulfilling Lucy's "summer list" which has included chasing down the ice cream truck guy several times without catching him (oh, we will!), peach picking, strawberry picking, cherry picking, flower picking, toads, Mt. Vernon, chasing fireflies, swimming, sprinkler, water table, buckets and hoses. Popsicles, watermelon and crushed ice. Unpacking, cleaning, raking, mowing, drilling, and painting. Late nights, early mornings and little girls that go bump in the middle of the night and a to-be-seen baby boy also going bump all day and all night. Lucy has skinned her face (and still has the marks to prove it), Harper has skinned and bruised her nose and both have had a zillion bug bites. Lucy got a new bike, Harper has a ton of new hair and both seem to think that they now have a ton of new toys, thanks to things having been packed for months and now at the ready. LaLa still reigns supreme, Hopper is becoming Harper's favorite lovie and Lucy has now decided that her "feet are boys. They do not like to wear dresses. Jack and Jeff (her hands) are also boys, they don't talk about dresses." Harper likes to color, play with playdoh and pretend food. She tries to do everything that Lucy does and adds some interesting tidbits as well (like running circles in the house and reading the same books over and over and over again). Lucy is forever impossible to convince that everyday need not be a "pool day" but that is where her heart is and that is where we try to end up as much as possible. The summer hasn't overrun us with heat yet, but we have been overrun needles to say. The beach is next week and hopefully that will promise some quiet time without household chores, errands, work and commitments, and it is one more thing to check off of the "summer list"!
