Bon Bon, Grandpa and Taylor visited for the 4th of July. Lucy was so happy that we had family around. We had a great time, Harper was held to her heart's content and Lucy had a playmate at all times. She loved piling teapot accessories on Bon Bon' head, eating ice cream, eating queso, swimming, showing off her swimming abilities, showing off Harper and seeing the fireworks with Bon Bon, Grandpa and Taylor (although she said they were lound and preferred watching them on tv!)

Big Girl Bed!
Lucy switched to a big girl bed this weekend. Things are going pretty well, in fact, she has slept in late every morning this week (9am!) Of course, sleeping this late means she doesn't really need a nap so naptimes have been a challenge in the new "comfy cozy bed" as she puts it. Anyways, she thinks this means she is 3 now, nevermind that her birthday is a few months away. She likes to tell me everyday that she is getting bigger and bigger, especially when I plead with her to stay little forever. My pleas are leading to nowhere, I think it is obvious that she is growing up awfully fast.
Folklife festival
We went to the folklife festival with friends last week. It was hot and crowded and Harper slept through most of it. The featured places are Bhutan, Texas and NASA, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. If you read this blog regularly, you could guess that Lucy's favorite was NASA. She in particular loved the lifesize astronaut which she talked to for about 15 minutes. She ended up in everybody's photos since she didn't want to leave and they all thought she was cute. This prompted a new list of things she will take into space with her: Daddy, Harper, Reggie, LaLa, a jacket, snacks, a helmet, boots, gloves and a few toys. An afterthought was to add me to the list, probably just to haul all her stuff.
The funniest part of the outing was at the end when we ducked into the American Indian Museum to feed Harper out of the heat. Lucy went down the benches from me to "talk to her Aunt Lauren". She actually had a conversation for about 20 minutes that, to an unknowing person, sounded like a real phone call. One onlooker said, "I pity your phone bill in a few years."

Sleepy baby
Harper is suppose to have a few minutes of tummy time everyday. Usually she plays for a few minutes and then cries. This day she just put her head down and went to sleep. If you have a minute, it is pretty cute to see her falling asleep and then trying to stay awake.
Little wings
Lucy attended her first really girly birthday party for Hannah this past weekend. All the kids threw on dress up clothes and ran around the children's garden at River Farm. Lucy had a great time and Harper, well, Harper just hung out in the shade. In preparation for the party, Lucy donned her fairy wings while taking care of her babies. She also put on a plastic hard hat she said, "to protect her hair".
