Lucy had her last day at school today. Well, actually her last day at school was Tuesday and her program was today. All week we've been asking her what she was singing in the program and all we were told was "The big ship sails on the the olly, olly oo" and that Miss Chris did not know any other of the words. Well, she was right, that is all there was, but it was great! The show started with the entire school singing "Under the Sea" during which Lucy stood in the front row of the entire school, in front of the entire school's parent congregation with her "shy" hand in her mouth. She looked terrified. We made eye contact and waved to her and she waved back, but then the hand went right back into her mouth. We were starting to feel sorry for her, but then they cleared the stage and each class sang a different song. Once they did this, I was able to sit up front, directly in front of Lucy and she more or less calmed down and sang her song "so Harper could hear her". It worked. Notice in the video, our ever-a-stickler-for-the-rules Lucy follows all the right cues for picking up and putting down her bells- something she was very proud of doing the "right" way. Her friend Abby is the one dancing off to the side. All in all, she had a great year in the Panda class and her teachers documented the whole year with pictures and a "what we learned" book. Lucy already has loved looking back on her school year through the pictures. Now she exclaims, "It's SUMMERTIME!!!"
